shiuratorah.com and the שיעורי תורה app · last updated 25 August 2026
שיעורי תורה is a library of Torah shiurim, run for the benefit of the public. You can listen to everything on it without creating an account and without telling us who you are. This page explains the little we do hold, and why.
What you can do without giving us anything
Browsing and listening needs no account. If you never sign in, we do not hold your name, your email address, or a record of which shiurim you personally listened to.
If you create an account
We keep:
- Your email address, so you can sign in.
- The shiurim you save, so they are there on your next visit.
That is all. Accounts exist so your saved shiurim follow you between devices — nothing else.
What stays on your own phone
Where you stopped in a shiur is stored on your device, not on our servers. It is what lets the site offer to continue where you left off. Clearing your browser data removes it, and we never see it.
Counting how often a shiur is played
Each shiur has a play counter so we know which are being learned. It counts plays, not people — the number goes up by one and no record is kept of who pressed play.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (by country or region, not an address), and what kind of phone or browser they use. This helps us know what to fix and what to build.
Google receives that information as part of providing the service. We do not send Google your name, your email address, or which specific shiurim you listened to.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your information to anybody.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not take payments on the site, so no card details are held.
- We do not use any tracker other than Google Analytics.
Who else holds this data
The site runs on Supabase, which hosts the database and handles sign-in, and on hosting and content-delivery services that serve the pages and the audio. They hold the information only in order to run the site for us.
Children
The site is a Torah library suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and no account is needed to listen.
Deleting your account or your information
Email info@shiuratorah.com and ask, and we will delete your account and the shiurim saved against it. You do not have to give a reason.
Changes
If the site begins doing something not described here, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top will change with it.
